Dormitorios infantiles compartidos

Las literas, camas nido, muebles a medida, son buenas opciones para organizar una habitación infantil en la que dos, tres o incluso más hermanos tienen que compartir el espacio.

Para conseguir multiplicar el espacio para guardar y mantener en orden la habitación, puedes elegir una cama nido, y colocar un mueble a medida bajo la ventana con cajones.


Para algunos niños, el “salto” de la cuna a la cama es demasiado grande. En estos casos, las camas extensibles son una gran ayuda para los padres. Sólo tienen 80 cm. de ancho, pero se pueden alargar (de 80 cm. a 165 cm. y 200 cm.) según vaya creciendo el niño.


Puedes también elegir una cama nido triple como la de la foto en la que en la parte de abajo simula un frente de cajones, pero en realidad es una tercera cama.


Para sacar partido a la altura, las literas son ideales para aprovechar el espacio vertical. Además ahora incluyen nido o cajones. Por ejemplo, puedes colocar unas literas cruzadas y aprovechar la zona inferior integrando un escritorio.

Glad Tidings for Christmas and New Year!

Mike and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year, may you enjoy happy times with family and friends over the festive season and we hope all your dreams come true in the year ahead.

We are looking forward to 2010 with excitement and wonderment, and if all goes to plan, we will be embarking upon a fabulous new adventure - we can't say too much in case we tempt fate, but watch this space, as they say... In the meantime, our cottage has been chosen for a Christmas photo shoot, to be featured in one of the glossy magazines next year. As you can imagine, it has been all hands to the deck as we festooned our cosy home with traditional and vintage decorations. The tree is positively groaning under the weight of baubles and the presents are piled high underneath. Decorating the cottage for Christmas is always an enjoyable experience; stacking logs in the inglenook, dressing our Victorian bed with warm and cosy quilts and hanging garlands from the beams - such delightful, festive chores. The photo shoot will capture all of the little touches that make Christmas a magical time here at Pottery Cottage, and it will mark this special occasion in a rather poignant and fitting way as we head into the New Year with our hopes and dreams for 2010.

We have had a wonderful year at Vintage Home and would like to thank everyone for their support and custom. We receive so many lovely messages and are often overwhelmed at the kindness of people who take the time and trouble to send us their lovely thoughts and generous wishes.

In the spirit of the season, we will be taking the Vintage Home website into the New Year with a host of very special vintage treasures, something for everyone to browse through over the holidays, so pop in for a look whenever some respite from the Christmas TV or turkey sandwiches is called for!

El salón-comedor, un espacio a punto de extinguirse en las casas

Las casas práticas y equipamientos de fácil utilización serán el tono de las apuestas futuras en las que realizaremos nuestra vida cotidiana. Los consumidores transformarán, añadirán y reflexionarán sobre el uso tradicional del espacio adaptándolo a su ritmo de vida y de necesidades.

Transformar, añadir y reflexionar serán algunos de los conceptos adoptados en la transformación de las casas, previéndose un desarrollo progresivo en el uso tradicional del espacio. Algunos analistas adelantan alguna de las opciones de la nueva tendencia ( las mini casas adicionales que se podrán suspender en las fachadas de las viviendas).


La falta de dinero, el temor por el presente y el futuro, así como el estrés que afecta cada vez más a una gran parte de la sociedad, harán de la casa el mejor lugar para recuperar energías.

La tecnología que es y seguirá siendo crucial, asumirá una nueva tendencia menos volcada para el high tech, privilegiando la accesibilidad y la democratización. Puede así decirse que la tecnología se aliará aún más a la multifuncionalidad, para simplificar el día a día de todas las personas.

Las nuevas formas de vivir envolverán más tipos demográficos: personas solteras, jóvenes que viven solos durante largos periodos de tiempo antes de iniciar una familia, así como ancianos que viven solos después del fallecimiento del cónyuge.

Por lo tanto, teniendo en cuenta todos los aspectos fundamentales que se mencionan es importante que los arquitectos tengan la sensibilidad de percibir lo que la sociedad necesita y demanda. La combinación de un bueno diseño con la utilización de los sentidos, los elementos táctiles, la tecnología responsable y la simplificación del día a día de los habitantes, es el secreto para el éxito de cualquier arquitecto.

Un par de trucos para decorar en espacios pequeños

No importa si tu casa es pequeña. La clave está en optimizar el espacio y el uso de muebles multifuncionales. Y es que, los muebles no sólo han de ser estéticos...

Una sóla imagen puede representa a la vez un salón, un comedor, un despacho o un espacio para dormir.

El sofá y el puf se convierten en una cama, el sistema de pared contiene un carro de ordenador y un mueble archivador para ordenar tus documentos, y la mesa de comedor se puede extender para acomodar a tus invitados extra.

Los dormitorios infantiles son una de las piezas de la casa donde más podemos dejar volar nuestra imaginación.


Es importante que los más pequeños de la casa se sientan a gusto en su habitación.

Para ello existen múltiples combinaciones posibles, que permiten hacer de esta estancia un lugar divertido sin olvidar la esencial funcionalidad.

La habitación de un niño es el lugar perfecto para inventar mil y una aventuras.

Colourful, Cosy Cheer at Vintage Home!

Now that the short days are upon us our little cottage is the perfect place to be, with a warm and cosy array of vintage quilts and throws to snuggle under in front of the fire.

This is one of my favourite spots, with timeworn patchwork throws and quilts which aren't too precious to be used every day.

As the evening approaches, this corner of the cottage is the perfect place to settle down with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate.

All this cosying up besides crackling log fires is setting the scene for that very special time of the year when we all like to indulge ourselves...

So, there is no denying that magical, mystical time is fast approaching and here at Vintage Home, we are making early preparations for Christmas. The website has kept us extremely busy this year and we have had great fun seeking out all the many, many vintage wonders which have now found new and loving homes. We will be updating the website with a beautiful selection of tantalising treasures over the next few days and as a very special thank you for your valued custom throughout 2009, we will be giving away a delectable Harrods Hamper to one lucky person!
